The Walt Disney Company Earns Record-Breaking 77 News & Documentary Emmy Award Nominations

ABC News Secures 40 Nominations, More Than Any Other Broadcast Network, Including the Third Consecutive Outstanding Live News Program Nomination for ‘World News Tonight with David Muir,’ 15 for ABC News Studios, Eight for ABC News Live and Six for ‘20/20’

Marvel Studios Garners Its First-Ever Documentary Nomination

Collectively, The Walt Disney Company has earned a record-breaking 77 News & Documentary Emmy® Award nominations across content brands and studios ABC News, Disney+, FX, Hulu, Marvel Studios and National Geographic.

ABC News’ banner year of nominations includes “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir” with its third consecutive nomination for Outstanding Live News Program, ABC News Studios with a record 15 nominations, “ABC News Live” with a record eight nominations with “ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis” receiving its first Outstanding Live News Program nomination, becoming the first streaming newscast to be nominated for the category. Additionally, “Good Morning America” earned the most nominations since 2011, and “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” earned the most nominations in 24 years.

National Geographic set its own record, earning the most nominations ever for the brand with 34 nods, including its most-nominated series, “Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller” with 20 nominations,  “JFK: One Day in America” with five nominations, and “Incredible Animal Journeys” with four nominations.

Marvel Studios secured its first-ever documentary nomination with “Stan Lee,” which traces his life from his challenging upbringing to the meteoric rise of Marvel Comics and is told in the voice of the Disney Legend.
