Facing a spate of thunderstorms, Margot makes one final, all out push to complete her Yukon dream home. Billy builds a backwoods BBQ – the last step in his goal to turn his simple abode into the perfect wilderness homestead. With summer right around the corner, Matty takes steps to “up” his waterfront “game”. And Emilie and Gilbert battle late season snows as they rush to complete their backcountry cabin before some very special guests arrive.

Margot takes advantage of the milder Yukon weather and tries her hand at a few new wilderness DIY projects; In the hopes of making his life in the bush “easier” - Matty digs deep - and searches for a less labor-intensive source of water. To accommodate the arrival of a few “four-legged” friends, Billy works on upgrading his backwoods property; And Emilie and Gilbert head into the wilds of Ontario – on the hunt for a source of spring-time sustenance.

Spring has arrived and Margot heads out, in search of bear - but ends up face to face with an even more formidable force of nature. Billy takes advantage of warmer weather and begins work on some much-needed cabin upgrades. Matty goes full “hillbilly” with his plans for the ultimate backwoods deep freeze; And Emilie and Gilbert get to work on a “Shabotwan” – a traditional structure they to hope to finish before the spring goose hunt begins.

Locked in the depths of winter, Margot hits the trapping trail – on the hunt for precious fur-bearing resources; Determined to thrive in the frigid Northwoods, Billy tries his hand at building a hot water heating system. Matty makes some serious “comfort” upgrades to his recently expanded Newfoundland abode; And taking a break from cabin construction, Emilie and Gilbert turn their attention to securing a traditional and essential food source.

As temperatures plunge, Margot is on the hunt for some “heat” - the final step in making her Northwoods home habitable. Hoping to bring a little luxury to his backwoods abode - Billy gives an old outbuilding new life. Emilie and Gilbert have their mettle and their relationship tested as they race to finish their cabin. And Matty takes the notorious Newfoundland winter head on as he tries to complete an ambitious new “Hillbilly” building project.

With the help of a colorful neighbor, Matty breaks ground on a new wing for his Newfoundland cabin. Emilie & Gilbert take to the forests of Northern Ontario in search of essential resources for their fledgling northern home.
