Keith Scholey
Keith Scholey is director of Silverback Films and Studio Silverback, award-winning producers of natural history and environmental films.
His recent credits include working as an executive producer on the Netflix shows “Life on Our Planet” and “Our Planet II,” as well as a series producer of the landmark Netflix series “Our Planet,” an executive producer of BBC series “A Perfect Planet” and “The Mating Game,” and a director of the Netflix film “David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet.” He has also served as producer and director of numerous Disneynature features such as “African Cats,” “Bears” and “Dolphin Reef.”
Keith’s credits as an independent executive producer include the Discovery Channel series “Wild Planet,” “North America” and “Deadly Islands.”
Awards for productions he has been responsible for include Emmy, BAFTA, RTS, Wildscreen Panda and Jackson Hole Awards.
Previously, Keith was a producer and executive producer at the BBC Natural History Unit and became the unit’s head in 1998. Subsequently he became the controller of BBC’s Specialist Factual Productions and then controller of Factual. In 2008, he left the BBC to become an independent producer of TV and feature films. He was made a Doctor of Science by the University of Bristol for his contribution to the public and to biological sciences.
