Jayme Lawson
Jayme Lawson was previously featured as one of Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch and was recently seen opposite Viola Davis and John Boyega in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s THE WOMAN KING. She also gave a memorable performance in the indie film HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE, which premiered to raves at TIFF and later released by NEON. She co-starred as “Bella Real” opposite Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN for Warner Bros and made her feature film debut in the Sundance film FAREWELL AMOR. She also shared the role of “Michelle Obama” in Showtime’s limited series THE FIRST LADY with the series’ producer Viola Davis.
In 2019, Lawson made her New York stage debut in The Public Theater’s critically acclaimed revival of Ntozake Shange’s seminal FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE / WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF. Lawson graduated in 2019 with a BFA from Juilliard, and was that year’s recipient of the Laura Pels Prize, Juilliard’s top acting award.
