Aldo Kane
Aldo Kane, expedition safety and logistics lead on ARCTIC ASCENT WITH ALEX HONNOLD, is a world-record-setting adventurer; Explorer; Fellow at the Royal Geographic Society; producer, author and TV presenter with a penchant for the world’s most dangerous, extreme and remote locations. A former Royal Marines commando sniper, Kane is an expert in all environments.
Kane has been charged by a black rhino, held at gunpoint, abseiled into an active volcano, summited Everest, escaped Ebola, and rowed across the Atlantic. He has accompanied Hollywood stars like Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody and Henry Cavill on travels in some of the most extreme environments on Earth.
His company, Vertical Planet, provides technical safety consultation and risk management for TV and film crews operating in some of the world’s most hostile environments. Kane was the on-screen Expedition Leader for National Geographic’s natural history series ONE STRANGE ROCK, hosted by Will Smith. In 2021, Kane wrote his first book “Lessons From the Edge: Inspirational Tales of Surviving, Thriving and Extreme Adventure,” published by Yellow Kite. The paperback version with an additional chapter is coming out in 2024.
