This Way Up

The approach of the first Covid lockdown casts a shadow over events.

Vish’s sister, Seema, joins Aine and Shona for her spa hen do. Shona contemplates Vish’s suggestion that they adopt kids. Aine meets Richard’s friend Mark and overhears them speaking negatively about her. Shona and Charlotte open up and mend their friendship.

Tom ends his friendship with Aine, which upsets her. Meanwhile, Vish tells Shona he is going to meet his ex-wife while in New York to close that chapter. Aine helps Bradley out at a Windrush fundraiser where James spots Richard and Aine together.

There is success in the bedroom for Aine and Richard after she spices things up, and Richard opens up to her about reasons for their difficulties. Shona isn’t convinced by Aine’s and James’s new business venture, and her lack of support hits Aine hard.

Aine and Richard move things forward despite some awkward hiccups and she is thrilled when her boss James proposes a business venture. Shona shops for wedding dresses and attempts to peddle back to a friendly working relationship with Charlotte.

Excitement mounts for Aine as she prepares for a big first date with Etienne’s dad, Richard. Meanwhile Shona adapts to an awkward working relationship with Charlotte and struggles to settle in to her massive new house, with fiancé Vish away in New York.
