Laci Mosley
Named one of Vulture’s “Comedians You Should and Will Know,” creator, actress, writer and producer Laci Mosley has quickly become “one to watch” in the entertainment industry. From bringing characters to life in film and television to hosting an award-winning podcast and creating and hosting her own docuseries, Mosley has proven time and time again that she can do it all.
In 2025, Mosley will appear in a handful of exciting projects. First, she will star in Denis Leary’s upcoming comedy series “Going Dutch,” premiering Jan. 2. The show follows the arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Col. Patrick Quinn (Leary), who, after an unfiltered rant, is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world. Mosley shines as Dana Conway on the series, a crafty supply sergeant who couldn’t handle the high stakes of cosmetology school in Yonkers and decides to enlist in the Army. For most soldiers, the base is a place to be banished to or escaped from. For her, it’s home.
Next, Mosley takes on the United States one scam at a time with the debut of the TV adaptation of her No. 1 podcast and book “Scam Goddess.” In Freeform’s brand new series “Scam Goddess,” Mosley travels around the country to bust cons, both big and small, including religious scammers, fake royalty, Ponzi schemes and more. “Scam Goddess” premieres on Freeform on Jan. 15 and will be available to stream on Hulu.
A newly minted author, Mosely released her debut book “Scam Goddess: Lessons from a Life of Cons, Grifts, and Schemes” in 2024. She also helms the No. 1 award-winning podcast “Scam Goddess” (Earwolf), which is dedicated to fraud and all those who practice it. Time Magazine crowned the show as one of their “10 Best Podcasts of 2022.” Rooted in Mosley’s love of comedy and intertwined with true crime (without the murders), she garnered the Best Overall Host Award at the 2024 iHeart Podcast Awards, with the podcast also winning multiple Webby and iHeart Podcast Awards over the years.
Further in the world of scripted television, Mosely starred in the Paramount+ reboot of “iCarly,” alongside Miranda Cosgrove, and on NBC’s hit comedy series “Lopez vs. Lopez,” opposite George Lopez and his daughter Mayan Lopez. Additional credits include HBO’s critically acclaimed, award-winning sketch comedy series “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” “Sherman’s Showcase” for IFC, “Kenan” on NBC, “Single Parents” on ABC, “Better Call Saul” on AMC, and “Insecure” on HBO. Mosely landed her first big break in 2019 with a starring role on Pop’s original series “Florida Girls.”
On the film front, Mosely starred in the Netflix comedy “The Out-Laws,” opposite Adam Devine, Pierce Brosnan and Nina Dobrev. The film follows Owen (Devine), an uptight bank manager about to marry the love of his life. When his bank is held up by the infamous Ghost Bandits during his wedding week, he believes his future in-laws, who just arrived in town, are the outlaws. Mosely stars as likable and dry-humored Marisol, who works as a bank teller and is managed by Owen.
Born in Terrell, Texas, and raised in the suburbs of Frisco, Mosely knew she wanted to be in the entertainment industry at just 5 years old. Growing up in Texas, she was a cheerleader, ran track, and served as student council and student body president, all while nourishing her love for performing by juggling acting classes and theater workshops. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with performance and marketing degrees, then spent several years studying improvisational theater at UCB-Maude (sketch) and ASSSCAT. She made the move to Los Angeles several years ago and has been working ever since.
On the charity front, Mosely is a member of UCB’s initiative Project Rethink (started in 2020), which works to address systemic racism within the organization. She is an avid supporter of Black Lives Matter and has actively protested and raised funds for various organizations. When she isn’t on set, you can find Mosely rollerskating (a hobby she picked up during quarantine) and hiking.
