Wendi McLendon-Covey
Wendi McLendon-Covey voices Nancy Green, the fun-loving mom to Cricket and Tilly, in Disney’s “Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation,” a brand-new animated comedy from the creators of Disney Channel’s hit series “Big City Greens.”
As an actor, comedian and producer, McLendon-Covey has captivated audiences throughout her career.
McLendon-Covey recently concluded her impressive 10-season run starring on ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” a milestone marked by two Critic’s Choice nominations. Notably, at the time of its conclusion, “The Goldbergs” stood as the longest-running network comedy currently on air. She is now transitioning to her next series endeavor. “St. Denis Medical” is a new workplace comedy for NBC premiering in 2024. She most recently hosted the HGTV special “Frozen in Design,” now streaming on MAX.
McLendon-Covey is a veteran of over 40 movies, including studio films such as “Bridesmaids,” “What Men Want” and “Blended,” as well as indie/festival films like ”Hello, My Name is Doris,” “Blush” and “Paint.”
In recent years, McLendon-Covey has emerged as a rising animation star. She is currently recurring as Chief Patsy Stamos in “Grimsburg” on FOX, as well as “Big City Greens” on Disney Channel and Disney+. She also voiced Gale in Disney-Pixar’s Oscar®-nominated film “Elemental.” Other animation credits include “Bob’s Burgers,” “M.O.D.O.K.” and “Solar Opposites.”
True comedy fans will recognize McLendon-Covey from her role as Deputy Clementine Johnson in the cult classic “Reno 911,” a mockumentary about law enforcement. Her other television work includes appearances on “Modern Family,” “Rules of Engagement,” “The Office” and Netflix’s “Unstable.”
McLendon-Covey got her start at the world-famous Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, where she excelled at both improv and sketch comedy. She currently resides in Long Beach with her husband of 27 years and seven rescue cats.
