Tony Testa
Tony Testa is the co-choreographer in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "Descendants 2," the sequel to the global smash hit "Descendants."
Discovering his passion for dancing at a young age, Testa began studying tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, break-dance and hip-hop at only 8 years old in his hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado. He soon began assisting his mom, a dance instructor, with choreography, realizing his skill was not only in dancing but creating unique and compelling routines.
Since moving to Los Angeles, California, in 2005, Testa has choreographed for pop sensations Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, among others. He has previously worked alongside "Descendants 2" director, choreographer and executive producer Kenny Ortega on other projects including Michael Jackson's "This Is It" and "Rocky Horror Picture Show."
As an artistic director, Testa worked with pop band One Direction on "Saturday Night Live" and season one of "The Voice UK." He also co-directed the opening performance number of the 2011 American Music Awards featuring Nicki Minaj and David Guetta.
Testa is working on a documentary for "Move the World: Dance Activism"; serves as a mentor for nonprofit organizations such as "Creative Visions," dedicated to inspire and empower creative activism worldwide; and nonprofit "Creative Heels," promoting empowerment, self-discovery and self-worth through creativity and self-expression to youth who have experienced trauma.
Testa currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
