Tom Warburton
Tom Warburton is executive producer and supervising director of “Kindergarten: The Musical,” an animated musical series that follows 5-year-old Berti and her new friends as they navigate the experiences that come with starting school for the first time.
Often credited as Mr. Warburton, he is best known for creating the hit animated series “Codename: Kids Next Door” and executive producing Disney Jr.’s Emmy® Award-winning “Muppet Babies.”
He is also a frequent collaborator with Caldecott Medal Award winner and New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Mo Willems. Together, the two have coauthored two books, including “We Are in an ART-ivity Book!” (An Elephant and Piggie Book). The duo has also worked together on several television series, including “Sheep in the Big City” and the award-winning musical adaptation of “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (The Musical),” which premiered at the Kennedy Center in 2019.
Warburton’s additional television credits include Disney’s “Pepper Ann,” “Fish Hooks” and “The 7D”; Nickelodeon’s “Doug”; “Schoolhouse Rock!”; and Mike Judge’s “Beavis and Butt-Head.” He also served as an animator for the “TV Funhouse” series on “Saturday Night Live.”
In 2009, Warburton wrote and illustrated the children’s book “1000 Times No.”
Originally from Ambler, Pennsylvania, Warburton attended Kutztown University. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife. He has two sons, Parker and Kelley.
