Melvin Mar

Melvin Mar is an executive producer of “Prom Pact,” from Disney Branded Television, a heartfelt romantic comedy set during the emotion and excitement of high school prom season.

Mar is an experienced television and film producer with credits that include “American Born Chinese,” “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” “New Girl,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “The Grinder” and “Weird Loners.” He executive produced the 20th Century Fox series “Speechless” and “Bless This Mess.” On the feature side, he and his partner Jake Kasdan’s credits include “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” “Bad Teacher,” “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” “Jumanji: The Next Level” and their upcoming movie “Red One” for Amazon. Mar began his career as an intern at Kopelson Entertainment, got his first job at Dreamworks SKG, and then moved to Scott Rudin Productions.
