Sara Parriott and Josann McGibbon
Sara Parriott and Josann McGibbon are the writers of the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants 3,” deepening the story of the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains. They also serve as executive producers on the highly anticipated third installment of the global hit franchise.
Parriott and McGibbon received a Writers Guild Award for their work on Disney’s “Descendants.”
Parriott and McGibbon are one of Hollywood’s longest-running female writing teams with their work spanning the big and small screen. They launched their careers with the feature film “The Favor,” which starred Brad Pitt, and are best known for writing the hit romantic comedy “Runaway Bride.” In 2007, they were nominated for two Emmys® for Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special and Outstanding Miniseries for “The Starter Wife,” which they also co-executive produced.
The duo has also written and co-produced multiple episodes for season six of “Desperate Housewives,” and co-executive produced season seven. They also co-produced episodes of “Cashmere Mafia.”
Shortly after finishing “Descendants 3,” the writing duo retired after an acclaimed career in the industry. McGibbon still resides in Los Angeles with her family, and Parriott currently lives in Tennessee with her husband. Despite the long distance, both remain close friends.
