Dylan Playfair

Dylan Playfair reprises his role as Gil, the brawny son of Gaston from “Beauty in the Beast.” Still as thickheaded as they come, Gil is always up for adventure and tomfoolery with Uma and her pirate gang in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants 3.”

With a diverse body of work ranging from the critically acclaimed comedy series “Letterkenny” to the “Descendants” franchise, Playfair has been anything but typecast. Additional onscreen credits include Netflix’s “Travelers,” “Haters Back Off,” “Never Steady Never Still” and “The Drop,” among others. Playfair is currently shooting the lead role in the independent feature “Odd Man Rush.”

Born in the small town of Fort St. James, British Columbia, Canada, into a hockey family—his father is a professional hockey coach for the Phoenix Coyotes. The oldest of three boys, Playfair stopped playing in the British Columbia Hockey League to pursue a career in film at the age of 19. He has studied acting in Vancouver and Los Angeles and is a graduate of Vancouver Acting School.

Playfair has been nominated for Canada’s Leo Awards three times—winning twice—and has been nominated twice for Canadian Screen Awards.
