‘World News Tonight With David Muir’ Is #1 Newscast on All of Broadcast and Cable in Total Viewers, Adults 25–54 and Adults 18–49, Outdelivering NBC by 1.3 Million Viewers and CBS by Nearly 3 Million Viewers

“World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 newscast on all of broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.239 million), Adults 25-54 (983,000) and Adults 18-49 (654,000) during the week of May 6, 2024, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (5.903 million, 831,000 and 523,000, respectively) by 1.336 million Total Viewers, by 152,000 Adults 25-54 and by 131,000 Adults 18-49, respectively.

“World News Tonight” increased its Total Viewer lead week to week over “NBC Nightly News” by 9% (1.336 million vs. 1.223 million).

“World News Tonight” has won the last 284 of 285 weeks in Total Viewers, including the last 128 weeks and 212 of the last 215 in Adults 25-54.

“World News Tonight” stood as the No. 2 program of the week in Total Viewers (7.239 million) on all of broadcast and cable.

Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.916 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 8th straight year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.652 million) by 1.264 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.807 million) by 3.109 million.

“World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 5th consecutive season. “World News Tonight” is leading NBC in Adults 25-54 (+119,000 – 1.107 million vs. 988,000) and in Adults 18-49 (+95,000 – 756,000 vs. 661,000). In addition, “World News Tonight” is leading “CBS Evening News” (693,000 and 470,000, respectively) by 414,000 Adults 25-54 and by 286,000 Adults 18-49.

For the week, “World News Tonight” (7.239 million, 983,000 and 654,000, respectively) beat “CBS Evening News” (4.314 million, 625,000 and 417,000, respectively) by 2.925 million Total Viewers, by 358,000 Adults 25-54 and by 237,000 Adults 18-49.
