With David Muir Leading Coverage From Chicago, ABC News Is No. 1 Broadcast Network Across the Board — in Total Viewers, Adults 25–54, and Adults 18–49 — on First Night of 2024 Democratic National Convention
ABC News’ coverage of night one of the 2024 Democratic National Convention (10:00 p.m.-12:25 a.m.) ranked No. 1 among the broadcast networks in Total Viewers (2.840 million), Adults 25-54 (568,000) and Adults 18-49 (400,000), leading CBS’ “Campaign 2024 – Democratic Convention Monday” (2.070 million, 433,000 and 339,000, respectively, – 10:00 p.m. – 12:24 a.m.) and NBC’s “Decision ’24 Democratic Convention Monday” (1.900 million, 481,000 and 341,000, respectively – 10:00 p.m. – 12:29 a.m.).
- ABC News saw increases compared to night one of the Democratic Convention four years ago (8/17/20) in Total Viewers (+16% – 2.840 million vs. 2.442 million).
- ABC News also ranked as the No. 1 broadcast network in Total Viewers on night one of the Democratic National Convention 4 years ago.
- ABC News posted gains versus its night one of the 2024 Republican Convention (7/15/24) in Total Viewers (+25% – 2.840 million vs. 2.280 million) and Adults 18-49 (+3% – 400,000 vs. 389,000).
