ABC News’ ‘Nightline’ Ranks No. 1 in All Key Target Demos vs. CBS’ ‘After Midnight’ and NBC’s ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers,’ Leading in Overall Viewers for 4th Consecutive Week

‘Nightline’ Sees Increases Week to Week in All Key Target Demos, Drawing Largest Overall Audience Since November 2023 and Strongest Key Adult Demos Since January 2024

Season To Date, ‘Nightline’ Grows Year to Year in Total Viewers, Posting Its Largest Overall Audience in 3 Years

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (895,000), Adults 25-54 (235,000) and Adults 18-49 (165,000) for the 2nd week in a row during the week of June 10, 2024, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” beat CBS’ “After Midnight” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in overall viewers for the 4th consecutive week.

“Nightline” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+1% – 895,000 vs. 887,000), Adults 25-54 (+12% – 235,000 vs. 209,000) and Adults 18-49 (+14% – 165,000 vs. 145,000). “Nightline” drew its largest overall audience since November and posted its strongest key Adult demo performances since January — since weeks of 11/27/23 and 1/15/24, respectively.

Season to date, “Nightline” is growing versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (+1% – 912,000 vs. 900,000), posting its largest overall audience in 3 years — since the 2020-2021 season.

This week, “Nightline” covered Hunter Biden being found guilty on three federal gun charges; Andrew McCarthy’s new ABC News Studios documentary “BRATS”; the Broadway adaptation of the coming-of-age classic “Outsiders”; Margaret Cho on paving the road for other LGBTQ+ comedians; Amy Poehler and the cast talking about “Inside Out 2”; the multiple shark attacks reported in Florida just miles apart; the 2×2 Church, a secretive Christian sect that has allegedly ignored sexual abuse for decades; Pamela Smart accepting responsibility for her husband’s 1990 killing, according to her lawyer; the first class of a unique prison rehab program sharing their story 20 years later and more.

NOTE: On Friday (6/14/24), CBS’ “After Midnight” was retitled to “After Midnight-ENC,” and NBC’s “Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Seth Meyers-SM” due to being repeats. CBS’ and NBC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
