Two-time Emmy®-winning journalist, author and producer Tamron Hall is executive producer and host of the nationally syndicated talk show “Tamron Hall,” which returned for a fourth season on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Hall, honored in 2022 with the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host, made history when she first received the award in 2020, marking the first time a first-year host received that honor.
Hall brings a refreshing, relatable and unstoppable voice to the daytime community. From the deeply personal to the purely fun, “Tamron Hall” is a daily destination for viewers to connect with the people shaping our lives through meaningful, engaging and entertaining conversations. “Tamron Hall,” which first premiered in September 2019, celebrated 500 episodes this past May.
The most recent season of “Tamron Hall” featured one-on-one interviews with newsmakers, changemakers, visionaries and people doing extraordinary things in their community and on the front lines. “Tamron Hall” has welcomed a diverse slate of entertainment, sports and lifestyle headline-makers over three seasons, including former Democratic rising star Andrew Gillum, who came out publicly as bisexual; former “Vanderpump Rules” cast member Stassi Schroeder, who addressed her racially insensitive behavior for the first time since her firing; Tamar Braxton, who spoke candidly about her attempted suicide and domestic violence allegations; “Captain America” actor Chris Evans, who reflected on his headline-making Instagram mishap; and former first lady and best-selling author Michelle Obama as well as Eddie Murphy, Matthew McConaughey, Regina King, Steph and Ayesha Curry, Lady A, Patti LaBelle, Melissa Etheridge and Kelly Rowland, to name a few. Hall’s debut novel, “As the Wicked Watch,” was published on October 26, 2021, and is the first book in her critically acclaimed “Jordan Manning” mystery series. Hall also hosts Court TV’s original true-crime series “Someone They Knew with Tamron Hall,” which was picked up for a second season in June 2022.
Hall hosted “Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall” for six seasons on Investigation Discovery, taking an in-depth look at crimes that shocked the nation. Previously, She co-hosted the third hour of “TODAY” and “TODAY’s Take” for three years and anchored “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall.” She received the 2015 Edward R. Murrow Award for Reporting: Hard News in Network Television for her segment on domestic violence as part of “TODAY’s Shine A Light” series. Hall hosted several special reports for MSNBC and NBC News, including “Education Nation: Teacher Town Hall,” which was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2011, and she served as a correspondent for the NBC News special “The Inauguration of Barack Obama,” which won an Emmy for Outstanding Live Coverage in October 2010.
She has also been honored by The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation with two Gracie Awards, first in 2020 for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment and again in May 2022 as Best On-Air Talent.
Hall is passionate about many causes, including domestic violence, homelessness and literacy and has dedicated her time to many deserving organizations over the years. She partnered with Safe Horizon to launch The Tamron ❤ Renate Fund in honor of her sister to help victims and families affected by domestic violence. Safe Horizon honored her with their Voice of Empowerment Award in 2014. Additionally, Day One, a New York-based advocacy group for victims of domestic violence, honored her work, and she received the Ackerman Family Advocate Award for her efforts to raise awareness for families who have a loved one experiencing abuse.
In July 2022, she was appointed to the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation (NABLF). She will serve in the newly created position of industry ambassador, working with NABLF on campaigns and fundraising efforts to help shape the Foundation’s future.
Hall is a native of Luling, Texas, and she holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in broadcast journalism from Temple University, where she serves on the board of trustees. She lives in New York with her husband and son.
