Alex Presha

Alex Presha is an ABC News correspondent based in Columbus, Ohio. Presha joined ABC News in 2020 as a multiplatform reporter based in Washington, D.C., and has covered an array of important stories for nearly every network platform.

Presha has reported on some of the biggest moments, including the 2020 election and the assassination attempt on President Trump. He crisscrossed the country for the 2020 presidential election, traveled to China for the Beijing Winter Olympics, and spent weeks on the ground covering wildfires in California. His coverage of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan led to the last-minute evacuation of an American family.

Presha was also involved in the ABC News coverage of the trials of former officers Derek Chauvin and Kim Potter and the men convicted of killing Ahmaud Arbery.

Before ABC News, Presha spent nearly a decade as a producer at NBC in New York, working at “Nightly News,” MSNBC and WNBC before joining KNSD-TV in San Diego as a reporter and political anchor.

Presha has multiple regional Emmy® Awards as both an anchor and a producer. This year, he, alongside a team, was nominated for a Loeb Award. He has also won a National Murrow Award with ABC News. In his spare time, he enjoys giving guest lectures to college journalism students and being involved with the National Association of Black Journalists.

Presha is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and an Atlanta native.
