‘The Week’ Sees Its Largest July Sweep Margin in Adults 25-54 in 7 Years
‘The Week’ Defeats ‘Meet the Press’ in Total Viewers During the July Sweep With Its Largest Lead During the Month in 27 years and Biggest Advantage During Any Sweep in More Than 25 Years

‘The Week’ Beats ‘Meet The Press’ in Total Viewers for the Week

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 (466,000) during the July 2022 sweep, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading both CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” during the month for the first time in 7 years — since July 2015. Overall, “This Week” has won 5 of the last 6 sweep periods in the key Adult news demo.
In addition, “The Week” saw its largest July sweep margin in Adults 25-54 in 7 years over “Meet the Press” — since July 2015.
“This Week” (2.567 million) defeated “Meet the Press” (2.253 million) in Total Viewers (+314,000) during the July sweep with its largest lead during the month in 27 years and biggest advantage during any sweep in more than 25 years — since July 1995 and November 1996, respectively.
In addition, “This Week” slashed its Total Viewers gap with “Face the Nation” by 68% (99,000 vs. 313,000) from the year-ago sweep to its smallest margin during the July sweep in 7 years – since July 2015. “This Week” also cut its margin with the CBS program from the previous sweep (-19% – 99,000 vs. 122,000) to its smallest sweep margin in 7 years — since July 2015.

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 on Sunday, July 24, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” for the 3rd time in the last 4 weeks.
In addition, “This Week” beat the NBC program in Total Viewers.
“This Week” improved on the year-ago Sunday in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.547 million vs. 2.486 million).
Season to date, “This Week” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” at this point of the season for the first time in 7 years — since the 2014-2015 season.
“This Week” is leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers season to date for the first time in 7 years — since the 2014-2015 season. In addition, “This Week” is cutting its season margin with “Face the Nation” by 18% (273,000 vs. 333,000) to its smallest gap in 12 years — since the 2009-2010 season.
George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
