Rebecca Herbst
Rebecca Herbst originated the role of Elizabeth Webber in August 1997 and recently celebrated her 25th anniversary on the show. While originally misguided and mischievous, Elizabeth has become one of the town’s most beloved heroines and respected nurses at the hospital. Herbst brings a refreshing flair to the role she has portrayed for over two decades.
Only two years after taking the role, she received her first Emmy® nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress in May 1999, and that same year, she won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actress. Herbst has also been nominated twice for the Daytime Emmy’s Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
At the age of 6, Herbst told her mother that she wanted to be on television so that she could play with the toys. Since then, she has appeared in over 60 national commercials. She has guest starred in many television series, including “Highway to Heaven,” “L.A. Law,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Step by Step,” “Boy Meets World,” “Sister, Sister” and “Days of our Lives,” and guest starred in the recurring role of Kristen on “Brotherly Love.” She also starred with Jaclyn Smith in the television movie “Kaleidoscope.” Herbst played Suzee, a series regular on cable’s “Space Cases,” and co-starred in the TV movie “Hefner: Unauthorized” as Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend Barbi Benton. In addition to acting, Herbst was a former competitive ice skater until age 16.
Herbst is married to former “General Hospital” co-star Michael Saucedo. The couple are the parents of three children, sons Ethan and Emerson, and daughter Ella. They live near Los Angeles.
